Cambridge Main Street Named Partner of the Year for 2019

Chesapeake Ghosts Donates $1000 to Cambridge Main Street

Chesapeake Ghosts, a ghost tour company operating year-round in eleven Eastern Shore towns, has announced its 2019 Partner of the Year – Cambridge Main Street and has donated $1000 to this non-profit that focuses on revitalization and downtown business development.

The company began recognizing a partner of the year in 2017 when it donated $1000 to the Princess Anne Police Department, which was supportive of the ghost walk in Princess Anne. In 2018, Chesapeake Ghosts recognized the Town of Berlin as its partner of the year by donating $1000 and releasing its first-ever commemorative holiday ornament featuring the Atlantic Hotel, one of Berlin’s anchor businesses and a stop on the Berlin Ghost Walk.

Chesapeake Ghosts just finished its fifth year in business and has sold over 10,000 tickets to ghost tours on the Eastern Shore this year. The Cambridge Ghost Walk rose in popularity this year and drew over 700 ticket buyers. The owner, Mindie Burgoyne believes this was partially due to the strong partnership between Cambridge Main Street and the ghost tour company.

Burgoyne states, “Cambridge Main Street has promoted our tours, included mention of them in the Weekly Roundup and newsletters and has distributed posters around the town about our tours. That support was also mirrored by Dorchester County Tourism, which we appreciate. The donation to Main Street and the holiday ornament is our way of saying ‘thank you for that support.'”

The Cambridge Holiday Ornament will be for sale for $10 on the company’s website starting December 6th, ChesapeakeGhosts.com and also at various stores in Cambridge. Guests can find out which stores by calling Chesapeake Ghosts at 443.735.0771 or Cambridge Main Street at 443.477.0843
