Haunted Somerset – Bus Tour

This bus tour will take guests on an excursion through Somerset County, MD to haunted sites that are in the outlying areas and not on the Chesapeake Ghost Walks.  Guest will travel by luxury motor coach and cover areas near Princess Anne, Crisfield, and Marion .  Guests will get haunted stories both on the bus and off.  They will deboard at a few sites like Luke’s Grave in Marion and the Princess Anne jail.  But will not be entering (going inside) any of the properties.

About Haunted Somerset County

Visit the haunted sites in Maryland’s most southern county.  Somerset traces its beginnings back to Colonial times. Named for Lady Mary Somerset, it has remnants of the regal, old Colonial class in places like Teackle Mansion.  The Somerset jail is still haunted by prisoners and law men from a time long gone.  A look down Prince William Street is like stepping back in time.

After immersing yourself in Colonial culture, move on to the agricultural side of Somerset and see the farms, community churches, haunted houses and graveyards of Marion Station and surrounds.  This community was once the Strawberry Capital of the world – an economy that generate considerable wealth for some.  Take a look down Millionaire’s Row and see the Vance Miles House – home of author (and guide) Mindie Burgoyne  who will tell you stories of her own haunted house.

Finally absorb the culture of the waterman and a town that built on the seafood industry.  Tour Crisfield and some of its most famous haunted including the Ira Todd House, moved from Holland’s Island when it was evacuated in  the early 1900s.  Visit McCready Hospital said to be haunted by some friendly ghosts, then take a drive down Somerset Avenue and see the home of Captain Leonard Tawes, also known as the Coasting Captain. – Hear his story of – told in his words of the a stormy night when a ghost helped save his foundering schooner. See the only library in America that also serves as a mausoleum.  Hear stories of sailors, sea captains, sea food barons, doctors, movie stars and philanthropists.

Sites on the tour include: Teackle Mansion, the Princess Anne jail, Dr. Beall’s House, McCready Hospital, Ira Todd House, Captain Leonard Tawes’ House, Corbin Library, St. Paul’s Cemetery, Cry Baby Bridge, Samuel Tull House, Luke’s Grave, Millionaire’s Row, Vance Miles House,  (Mindie Burgoyne’s House) and more.

Princess Anne  (meeting place)is approximately 1 hour & 45 minutes east of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.

MEETING PLACE:  The parking lot for the Somerset District Court Building in Princess Anne   12155 Elm St, Princess Anne, MD 21853.  This is on the east side Route 13 at the Intersection of Mount Vernon Road.

COST: $29 per person.
Advanced Registration is required.

TIME & WEATHER: Ghost Walk begins on time. We go in all kinds of weather except weather that poses a threat to public safety (thunder storms, icy condition).  Dress for the weather .

  • Bring your umbrella if it looks like rain
  • Wear comfortable shoes
  • Bring a camera

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS:  Full refund will be given if cancellation is made 48 hours prior to the tour’s start.  If cancellation is NOT made within 48 hours of the tour, no refunds will be given.  However, all registrations are transferable, so feel free to allow a friend or family member to attend in your place.  Just give them your order voucher.
